Article API
An article is more than a block of text. It has a title, an audience, a source trail, a publication state, and a destination.
Explore this guide ↗An article-to-article workflow adapts an existing piece into a new version for a different audience, reading level, or format. The useful question is not how to make it sound different, but what genuinely needs to change while its meaning, attribution, and important qualifications remain intact.

Keep the original revision and the adaptation brief together. A simplified explanation, an executive summary, and a technical expansion are different editorial assignments; they should not share an ambiguous rewrite instruction.
Name the new reader and the change in scope. Identify quotations, numerical values, definitions, and caveats that require special care.
Attach the source article identifier and revision to the new record. Record whether the result is a summary, an adaptation, or a substantially new article.
Compare claims and omissions, not just wording. A shorter version must not remove the condition that made the original statement true.
Rewording a third-party article does not by itself make reuse appropriate. Obtain the permissions needed for your intended use and add original value.
It is a topic label for article-to-article adaptation, not a separate product. This page focuses on transforming content responsibly between editorial formats.
